I hope that readers will be able to find some intresting information in here. I'm really passionate about technology and I'm planning to share my findings about functional modeling, 3D printing and software development.
I have considered two open sourced firmwares: Marlin and GRBL. I have already used Marlin as a firmware for my modified Anet A8. Since it is mainly focused on 3D printers and is pretty advanced I have decided to go with simpler option. This is how I have decided to go with GRBL.
Putting into effect the design took significant amount of time. It was filled with waiting for prints to finish and applying fixes when there were issues. Second part of course was waiting for all bought items to arrive. Let’s take a look what I had to struggle with.
Design time was probably the most complex. There was a lot of existing elements that had to be included. As already mentioned in previous post I have tried different approaches but finally ended up with recreating 1208 3 Axis Mini Assembled CNC. I do not plan to show first drafts but rather focus on final solution. Please find downloadable project at the end of this post.
This is the first post about designing and making a CNC for engraving PCBs. I would like to tell you about a journey that I went through to make this idea possible. I will tell you about how it has started, what issues I had and where it brought me.
